What is the financial investment?
Our standard Northeast United States full price for your investment is $450-575*, and is typically made back with just one client. However, we do offer discounts off tuition for those that register early. See the registration page for these important discount cutoff dates.
The cost includes the two-day intensive workshop, light snacks both days, a copy of the 340+ page printed and bound manual (given at the training), access to the online portal with searchable manual and additional training, and your grading fee. There are never any re-certification fees or membership fees from Birth Arts International.
Additionally, all my live doula trainings include 6 months membership to the online Evidence Based Birth Higher Ed classroom, which includes many extra modules designed to help you be a better birth professional. You will be given a pre-workshop assignment from this classroom, so register at least two weeks in advance to have the most time possible to complete the assignment.

Do I need to register by a certain date?
Yes. To ensure the proper space for our students, registration will close two to four weeks before each workshop date. If any spaces remain after they will be available on a first come first served basis by contacting a Cindy. Book early to take advantages of our to ensure your spot, and to take advantage of our Early Bird specials, payment plan, and have the most time possible to complete the pre-workshop assignment.
Do you offer any scholarships?
Yes! We are proud to offer up to two scholarships for those in financial need at each of our training weekends. One is for Birth Workers of Color and the other for Queer (LGBTQIA+) Birth Workers. To learn more about these scholarships and to apply, click the appropriate link below.
Can I bring my children?
We welcome nurslings and non-mobile babes in arms, but strongly recommend that you have a caregiver nearby to care for your little one during non-feeding times. Our workshop is a professional setting and highly interactive and I wouldn't want you to miss out on any of the yummy things we have planned.
Will I be a Certified Doula after the workshop?
Our amazing, fun weekend workshop is the first step in the certification process. We will go over the requirements necessary for full certification in detail on the first day- and even complete a few in class! You will leave the workshop with the skills necessary to be well on your way to becoming a Certified Birth Arts International Doula. Most importantly, my aim is for you to leave the workshop with the confidence to work with clients and attend births.

What does it mean to Host a workshop?
Don't see a workshop near you or interested in work-study? Looking to earn a discounted or free training? Consider being a host and bringing the workshop to you. Some of the duties of Hosting are procuring the location, and helping fill the workshop. I offer HALF off to the sponsor once we reach the minimum number of participants to hold the training, and once we reach 10 participants the sponsor will get to go FREE. I only have one available Hosting slot per training. Contact me for more information.
This sounds great! How do I register?
Congratulations on making the decision to become a Birth Arts International Doula! The links to individual training date registration can be found on the registration page. If it is more than a month before training begins you will have the option of paying in full, or in two installments. If there are spots left one month before the workshop payments will be required in full. Please pay promptly as registration is limited. We cannot hold your spot without payment. In general registration will close one month before the training is to be held.

Each workshop has an minimum amount of participants required. If we cannot hold the workshop you can come to a different workshop with Cindy, or be refunded. Please do not purchase non-refundable plane or hotel reservations until Cindy confirms that the workshop has enough participation to run. The best way to ensure the workshop can run is to talk it up and share it amongst your friends, family and colleagues.
